Introducing Balfour Winery

The vineyards you can currently visit on an Opulence bespoke wine experience all have their own unique and fascinating story to tell. Over the next week, we will be introducing each vineyard we work with and what makes them so special, starting with Balfour Winery.

Balfour Winery

Balfour Winery is a pristine 400-acre family owned estate in Staplehurst, Kent, with vast ancient woodlands, vineyards, apple orchards and wildflower meadows. With family values at its core, their Estate combines conservation with an unrivalled spirit of hospitality and generosity. Their vineyards were planted in 2002 by Co-founders Richard and Leslie Balfour-Lynn and in just five years, their Balfour Brut Rosé 2004 became the first English wine to win a gold medal and the Trophy at the International Wine Challenge. Balfour Winery grew on that success with their wines known for their clean, fresh and precise style with many further accolades to their name. Combine that with their stylish and contemporary building built in 2018 which offers spectacular sweeping views across the Estate, it’s a truly outstanding location to spend a day.
